This year’s Christmas theme is Scandinavian! Which means natural greens, crisp whites, neutrals, and twinkle lights. All were perfect in creating a cozy, nostalgic feeling all throughout my home!
To incorporate natural elements, I found a small branch and placed it on the wall using some tacks and twine. It was a bare branch, so I also attached faux juniper shrub to add more green lushness. I then hung the family stockings on it! This is a great way to display stockings if you have a small space and no fireplace mantle.
I made a quick banner of a meaningful Christmas saying by cutting paper into diamond pieces and folding them over and gluing on to twine. The twinkle lights were intertwined with the plants and framed art to make this focal area more festive.
Since my color scheme was mostly white and neutrals, some texture was brought in with the faux fur rug and tree topper.
And of course I had to add more greens and natural elements! From garlands to pine cones, the dining area was clean and simple, while still reflecting the time of the season.
This was my first year to really sit and think about how I wanted to decorate for the holidays, and I am really happy with how everything turned out. Every time I walk through the front door, I am reminded of the joyfulness this time of year can bring and that is all I can really ask for this season 🙂 Enjoy the time with your family and friends and I hope you all have a happy holiday and a wonderful new year!
